It seems that every day we hear stories of car accidents and pedestrian accidents. While we live in an idyllic area of the country, our roadways and highways are just as dangerous as anywhere else in the country. Unfortunately, one such recent fatal example happened Sunday evening.
The accident
According to the Santa Ana Police Department and the Orange County Fire Authority, the accident occurred Sunday evening after 7:00 p.m. at 1200 West 1st Street in Santa Ana. Apparently, a local was crossing West 1st Street when he was impacted by a westbound vehicle.
After the accident
Unfortunately, after treating the pedestrian, OCFA reported that he died on the scene. The driver of the vehicle cooperated with the investigation and did not flee. Police are still investigation the accident, but they do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor. However, if anyone has information or dashboard camera footage of the accident, they are asked to contact the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division.
